Woman Auctions Father's Ghost on eBay to Ease Son's Fears
"A northwest Indiana [mother] is easing her 6-year-old son's fears of his grandfather's ghost by selling it online."

Okay, if you don't know it, I'm not a parent. Maybe if I were, this would make more sense to me. To me, it's crazy! Apparently it was the child's idea. If the tyke had said, "Let's drive the car off a cliff!", would the mother have done that too? Wouldn't it make more sense to take this opportunity to explain your religious beliefs? I thought Christianity didn't believe in ghosts. Wouldn't Grandpa be in Heaven?

But no, it's easier to do what the kid wants, and give him the money so he can get a new X Box for Christmas, so any possible hope of real learning is just down the drain.

Parents out there in the audience, please feel free to tell me if selling ghosts on eBay to appease six-year-olds is good parenting. Personally, I would not sell my dad's soul. But that's just me, I'm kind of sentimental that way.

If I were 6, that would really bother me. But anyway, i'm grading portfolios today and all this week. Let me know if you wanna take a break and go get some coffee or something.
I am writing all this week! Maybe later this afternoon? Or sometime tomorrow, I have to go to campus and get my grading sheets.
I shall be free from about 2:30 until 4 if you wanna mee at Starbucks or something.

I just sent ya and e-mail to set up a time!
And I just replied

Ex-cellent.
So you guys are posting about your offline e-mails? Kooky kids.
As for the Christian/ghost thing, when they tell you they don't believe in ghosts, I always ask them about the Holy Ghost. Their answer is always the same; he's part of the Holy Trinity. Telling them that's not an answer just makes them repeat that.
I just wish that I had known you could sell ghosts on eBay before now! What other wacky things can I pawn off on a gullible public? I think that lady sold her dad's ghost for over $1000!
How is she going to get him in the box?
Exactly! I didn't realize there was a fool-proof method for capturing ghosts and putting them in canes. Better call Ghost Busters!
My mother died when eldest son was 5 1/2, and he was really upset. It comforted him when I reassured him that both his grandmothers were looking out for him (and his little brother.) I can't imagine that "selling" a loved one's ghost would help a child that age.
