"The Knights Next Door"
Ginevra

Here's a book by a real journalist on the SCA. "A hands-on travelogue through the "Current Middle Ages" of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), the world's largest group of medieval enthusiasts." I like that - "medieval enthusiasts". It's more honest than "historic re-enactors" and less insulting than "weirdos".

"Weird" is a word that boring, staid, stuffy "Normals" use to differentiate the interesting people from themselves!
I bought the e-book version and liked it, although it could use another round of copy-editing. It's sort of like the SCA version of "Word Freaks"; an outsider starts participating in a subculture to write a book, and gradually gets sucked into it.
I've been called weird since the third grade!
Bought the book - Martin loved it because it featured one of his best freinds Count Valharic of the middle now of Atlantia. Although I am sure the reading will be difficult for someone who has never been exposed to the SCA.
