Obsessive or Compulsive? You Be the Judge
oHIo!

Whenever I get an Ohio quarter, I keep it, thus taking it out of circulation and keeping some poor collector from having all 50 states. I just can't part with them, even if it means going without a Diet Coke. This means I have a few good luck charms lying around.

Ohio is my homeworld, and I think I hold it in such high esteem for pure nostalgia. That was the part of my life before my parents divorced, before I had to worry about things like school, college, lack of social life, paying bills, etc. Yeah, I know it's cold and sometimes overcast for days up there, that snow is a pain to drive in, they have a state income tax...I happen to like clouds and cold.

P.S. - Normally I don't have a sense of humor about the stinkin' Ravens (death to Modell!), but the following graphic, from Thomas H. Twine's home page, cracked me up. I must be in a generous mood.

Ravens Suck!

People just will never understand the Great Lakes mindset. I imagine Ohio is somewhat like NY in that the different regions are very different from each other. Buffalonians are about as much like New Yorkers as Clevelanders are like Cincinnatians. Buffalo has sort of a Canadian influence, and Cincinnati has a hillbilly Kentucky influence. Until you've lived on a lake the size of Rhode Island, you can't understand.
I never quite understood the Ohio mindset until I read Drew Carey's anecdotal semi-biographical book, "Dirty Jokes and Beer: Tales of the Unrefined". (Highly recommended, btw - the audiobook is read by him and he has some great deliveries). With the exception of Ginevra, Carey is the biggest fan of Ohio I've ever heard of.
HANNNNNG ON SLOOOPY SLOOOOPY HANNNG ONNNNNNN!!!!!!!!

i love this state, i love being from this state, i love our state song is a 60's pop song and a marching band favorite, i love that we aren't indiana.. er.. I love that "buckeye" could mean just aout anything, form a tree, a inedible nut, a football team, a ohioan, or a yummy peanut butter ball chocolate dipped candy.

OHIO ROCKS, and screw ya if you think otherwise!
I have an embarrassing confession to make about the Ohio quarter - it took me a while to realize the astronaut was native son John Glenn. Northeast Ohio's big contribution to aviation is the Goodyear blimp.

Ohio is cool, no doubt about it, and loyal Ohioans tend to stick together.
